Ohio State Highway Patrol Fremont Post

Ohio State Highway Patrol

Thomas Porter Architects was contracted to design a safe, secure work environment for
OSHP employees and the visiting public. The new facility, constructed on an existing
site, will provide adequate space for all personnel, equipment, and processing.

The design of the new structure supports the Post’s operation by organizing the floor plan to promote efficiency, handicap accessibility, strengthen programmatic adjacencies, and to ensure safety, security for OHSP employees and the public. Additionally, the 5,000 SF
design will provide an attractive and budget-conscious facility that will deliver on OFCC, OPS and OHSP programmatic requirements to bring the facility into compliance with the Ohio Building Code and OFCC / OPS design standards.

The new facility incorporates a storm shelter to ensure the safety of all staff in the event of a severe storm. In addition, the existing radio transmission antenna structure, equipment building structure, emergency generator, and associated propane tank will
remain in the current location on the existing site.
