Barber Farris Produce Building Historic Renovation
IBC, Inc.
The Barber Farris Produce Building is located in the Warehouse District adjacent to
the historic Erie Street Market and former Canal District. The building has served the produce industry as the B. Farris Produce Company, and is often called the Pink Building in reference to the paint color.
In early 2023 contraction began on the building, with assistance from federal and state historic tax credits and the City of Toledo white-box grant program, and underwent complete interior and exterior renovations. The scope of work includes masonry repairs and tuck-pointing, structure stabilization, window replacement, new storefronts, roof replacement, electrical site work, and complete interior renovations. The Barber Farris Building will be a thriving mixed-use building with four commercial tenant spaces on the first floor, historic office space on the second floor, and eight apartments on the second and third floors.
TPA partnered with LKL Engineers for structural engineering, JDRM Engineering for fire
protection and MEP engineering, and Feller Finch for civil engineering, to complete the
design of the project.
